Staff Messaging
Summary
The staff messaging utility is used to send text-based notifications to hotel staff. Messages can be sent individually or en masse to an entire group through the message manager, and if your hotel uses Chorum, can even send a push notification to each user’s mobile device (provided they are logged in to the app). Be aware that before staff messaging can be used, your hotel must have set up and configured your distribution groups. Additionally, please note that to send messages via the Staff Messaging portal you must have the Send Message permission enabled for your clerk login. If you do not have this permission and believe you should, please reach out to your hotel’s manager or administrator for assistance.
To access the Staff Messaging menu, simply click the discussion icon in the top-right corner of Chorum’s menu (this can be accessed from anywhere in Chorum). If your hotel isn’t using the new Reservations module, be aware that the Staff Messaging menu may appear slightly different, but otherwise still works the same.
The Staff Messaging menu is broken into three tabs (or sections, for users viewing the old menu format): Send, Sent, and Received.
Once you are finished in the message manager, click Close at the bottom of the menu to return to whichever menu you were previously on.
